You may know that bees are responsible
for pollinating over $10 billion worth of crops (Robinson
& Nowogrodzski, 477), but realize that the beekeepers don't make
$10 billion. In 1985-88, only 22% of beekeepers received payment for pollination
services (Hoff & Schertz Willett, vii).
In 1991-93 the USDA estimated the value of the US honey crop at $121-125
million (Hoff, 3).
