Berkeley Breathed was the author of Bloom County and Outland. He also drew
the cover for this PeTA cookbook (which I recommend highly) and has also done t-shirts.
I guess he's not really vegetarian though. He would be an
Arthropoda-Mollusca-vegetarian, at least according
to and interview that used to be on the web. In a different interview he talks a little bit about what led him to animal rights.
